A post about Cycling

At WyTri we have a great cohort of cyclists who hit the roads multiple times a week to rack those miles up. The rides are purely social with no formal coaching, but always full of fun and most of the time with a great café stop. Indeed, I think our cyclists have frequented every cycle friendly cafe across Lancashire!

There are multiple rides across the week. Usually there are 2 mid week rides, one on Tuesday and one on Thursday. The Tuesday ride tends to be after work and subject to the seasons and weather, the Thursday ride is in the morning. We then have our big rides on both Saturday and Sunday. The Saturday is generally with our more seasoned riders and will easily take in anywhere from 50 to 100 miles depending on the weather and where people are in their training. The Sunday ride is slightly more leisurely but can still be upwards of 50 miles. Don’t let the distances or level of riders put you off though. We welcome people from all abilities, whether you are just starting out or you are semi-pro. The cycling sub committee handle the organisation of the rides and we will help you find which session will be best for you and your ability. No one gets left on a ride and we pride ourselves in how friendly and welcoming members of the club are.

Also depending on the season there are a number of Zwift rides that get organised, whether that be the Zwift TTT or just social rides due to inclement weather. All you need is a turbo trainer and Zwift account and you are welcome to join!

Please reach out to us via the contact form or email info@wytri.club for more information on any of the cycling sessions we have.

Thanks!
